Please note: Bears Lake was mostly closed for 2025 due to a small fire that affected the main power supply. We’re incredibly grateful for everyone’s understanding and are excited to reopen at the beginning of 2026 - better than ever! The fish are thriving and we can’t wait to welcome you back.
Bears Lake is a quality rural lake with a lakeside apartment sleeping four people, located in the heart of the Périgord Natural Park. The very pretty lake is for a maximum of 3 anglers and the quality of the fishing is excellent with 30lb+ carp being the norm. Runs are generally plentiful and the carp are hard fighting.
You hire this venue on an exclusive basis and it suits small groups of anglers wanting a more luxury option or those looking to take the family to a beautiful part of France with excellent fishing on the doorstep.

"In total we caught 51 fish, carp up to 45lb and also a catfish of 45lb. All fish were in excellent condition. Extremely happy with everything. We would definitely recommend Bears Lake to anglers that would like to fish an easier water with a good stock of quality carp. Having the accommodation is a great asset, especially for anyone fishing with family that would like a little bit of luxury or in bad weather which provides some additional comfort."

"Over and above previous venues visited in France. Great venue, peaceful & secure. Accommodation great. Around 65 fish in total including 7x40's, 10x30's, 1x catfish and 1x40lb grass carp. Bait really good and reasonable price. Food package was amazing and very good value. I would 100%. recommend. We will be coming back one day!"

"A stunning lake and great facilities. Over 30 fish caught between us, and that was only with the rods in probably less than 50% of the time we were there as it just so hot! The owner Martin could not do more for us which made this stay so enjoyable. The food package is just amazing... everything home cooked and you will not go hungry! Terrific value for money and we really didn't need to bring or buy anything else. Our first fishing trip in France and this has certainly set the bar very high. Definitely returning again."

Set within the beautiful Périgord Natural Park, the location offers easy access to many local attractions. I'll arrange extras such as home-cooked food packages and airport transfers if required - my aim is to make your trip straight forward and stress-free!
