Overview
Souvenirs offers quality carp fishing close to Calais on a tranquil 75-year-old gravel pit which had never been open to anglers prior to 2023. It really suits the thinking angler that likes a more natural lake, but with comfortable swims and facilities.
There's an interesting mix of around 290 beautiful carp to over 58lb, including over 72 carp sourced from the famous Euro Aqua.
With all 11 swims spread over just two banks and reserved exclusively for groups of up to 8 anglers, there's a nice social element to fishing here if you wish.
It's 2hr 45 from Calais with an easy run straight down the autoroute on the A26.
Lac des Souvenirs translates as Lake of Memories and that's exactly what anglers will create here. Owner Nigel has put much care into the detail and it really does 'have it all'.

"Despite the daytime temperatures often hitting 40c we still managed over 40 fish between us. The lake is a wild gravel pit with weed, clear spots, marginal snags etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and are rebooking for next year. If you want a different experience than what 85% of French carp fishing lakes offer, I would book this place soon."

The lake is beautiful and varied, not just your average bland lake and the fish are stunning. On top of that the facilities made the trip so much nicer and Lewis made us feel at home and was happy to help which really helped the group make the most of our time there. Would recommend to anyone."
