The Carp House Fish
The lake is not heavily stocked, with the owners concentrating on quality over quantity here, so we don't expect it to be a runs water. You'll find a range of sizes right through from singles up to the largest carp currently at 57lb. A mix of around 80 beautiful commons and mirrors, at least 6 of which are between 44lb-57lb. There are also the usual silver fish and some pike.
Whilst this is a very new lake and so we have fewer catch reports to go on, our field testers, on both occasions, landed carp to over 40lb and a few 30lb+ too, amongst smaller sizes. A netting is taking place in the winter of 2025 to thin out the smaller carp so we will see the average weight increase for the 2026 season.
