General Comments:

The weather is excellent for fishing. Not cold at night and sunny in the day. I decided to have a go to Old Oaks a couple of hours only last week. I fished one day with 2 rods during 2h for one run and caught a superb yellow mirror of 30lb. Then, another day , I tried 2h30 for 3 runs and caught 3 fish. I fished another 3h for 2 runs and caught 2 mirror. I'm really happy and will try again very soon !

Mehdi was keen for me to have a go on Old Oak's so I managed to talk him into joining me for a social. We only fished for one afternoon but caught 9 fish between us. Mehdi had fish of 23.00,26.00,28.00 and 28.00I had fish of 23.00, 23.00, 25.14, 26.00 and 28.04 - Not bad for a short winter's afternoon in torrential rain!

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

I fished just two rods. One over a bed of Quest Baits Rahja Spice boilies and one on a small PVA bag of Special Crab Plus Boilies fished on its own (the bag had crushed boilies in it). I caught 3 on the Rhaja and 2 on the Crab.

General Comments:

A lovely lake which gave me some of the most hectic sport I have experienced. Superb water for someone wanting lots of action. And perfect for the angler who enjoys relatively close range English type fishing.
