Over the week we landed 22 fish. Chat were very active so proving difficult to bait spots. The week provided 4x50's, 13x40's, 3x30's, 2x20's and 1x high double.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Wrapped baits with a small plastic topper fishing far margins. Bait boat is an advantage as alot of fish fell as soon as the bait was dropped.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes, large size chester freezer and tall fridge. English sockets and shower is red hot.

Medhi is such a welcoming host and great guy who is happy to give you any help or advice whilst fishing.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Usual fishing to the far margin, armor mesh hook baits as chats were active although we found Quest bait's"Rahja spice" pop ups not on the chat's menu of choice. High pressure for most of the week so made fishing difficult although i broke my PB twice so happy with that.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Have been to Old Oaks 5 times, so as expected.

General Comments:

Mehdi is working hard to add some very nice linear carp to both Old Oaks and Laroussi and look forward to being able to add some of these to another trip's tally

12 carp in total including 3x 50, 5x 40, 3x30 and the long common at 64lb.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Poisson chat a real nuisance so rubber/plastic baits necessary plus protected boiles. All swims produced but fishing was very slow until weds when it picked up considerably with the cooler weather.

Nice shower and ample fridge and freezer.

Yes very happy.

Mehdi is a very nice man and a font of knowledge and nothing is too much trouble for him.

Well worth a visit and would definitely recommend.

Fishing was hard (but you expect this at a venue of this calibre) Medhi met us, gave us some handy tips, the key, and left us alone. He's a great guy. We had 18 fish in total. Five 50s seven 40s five 30s and two 20s. The poisson chat were active but with fake corn they left us alone. Second trip to old oaks this year and we hope to return. The gunslinger fished peg 1, Jonny fished 3 and I was on 4. All pegs fished well Most fish were caught during early morning (in daylight, dusk and at night) only 5 caught in daylight. The cabin is functional and the shower is great. The weather was hot, up in the 30s during the day but the evenings and night were lovely.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Bait boat under the far marginal trees. Plastic sweetcorn. Praying to the carp gods and my faithful carp whistle.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes. Clean and tidy. Both toilet and shower do what it says on the tin. Hot water is hot Freezer and fridge are great

Considering how hot the weather was we had a good result. I did invest in a portable shower from Amazon (£38). So during the day I could cool off and at night I could have a shower without needing to go to the cabin The fish were in good condition and its been a fantastic trip
