Had a good week on Old Oaks, well Darren did in peg 1. The fish seamed to be holding up in peg 1 this week with Darren having 11 in the end up to 57lb. Everyone else ended up with 1 each. Overall a pretty tough week for everyone else but that's carp fishing.

Plastic corn over particle seemed to do most of the fish close to far margin

Another great week on old oaks, shame we all didn't have a few more but that's the way it goes. Definitely be back soon highly recommended if you're after big fish. Mehdi is a great owner to always happy to help

General Comments:

Just back from another week at Old Oaks, this being our 6th visit which first started in 2015. The week started well with peg 5 producing 3 good Carp in the first 24 hours, all caught on fake baits and on the drop from the bait boat pretty much, as we we found the chats still very active and a pain with almost every other bait we used. The week slowed down with Gary catching on peg 4 and another on peg 1. The weather deteriorated with heavy rain and strong winds. Mehdi was on hand with advise when asked for and thanks to Angling lines for sorting out all our needs in the build up to the trip.

We tried every way possible, Bottom bait, Wafter, Snowman, Pop-up topped off with plastic corn. I told the lads to cage the baits but they were still getting through that " The poison chat"... One evening in particular i put out 3 freshly caged baits all on my spots and when i reeled them in 36 hours later there was no bait left so effectively not even fishing, not good with the money your paying..

Yes, this is my 6th time at the venue

General Comments:

Overall there was 5 of us for the first week and only 3 for the second week, We all spent a fortune as it was my 50th birthday to get the two week's, This venue is by far my favourite i've fished in France and i was gutted for the lads that come with me as we were all plagued by Poison Chat for the first week.. Nothing worse than paying £3500 for lake exclusive and all you get is the poison chat, saying that there was a couple of lovely carp caught. I know Mehdi is trying his best to clear them but i feel for the money your paying that some serious work needs to be done, This is not a personal criticism as i absolutely love the venue as Mehdi know's all to well. The second week was very hard fishing with weather conditions up and down with thunder and lighting but as we all know "That's fishing"!!!!! Can't wait to go back in 2026 but hopefully them little critters are almost gone, spoiling a very lovely lake in my opinion....
